ADIDAS ORIGINALS: DONALD GLOVER PRESENTS
A CINEMATIC DROP
Donald Glover Presents is the creative partnership between the multi-talented artist and iconic sportswear brand adidas Originals, a collaboration yielding a range of new products and short films with storytelling at its core. To launch the exclusive collection, KAMP worked alongside Glover's Royalty Collective to give superfans first access and a physical space to explore DG's cinematic offerings.
KAMP took over a mansion in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Silver Lake and crafted a story-driven experience inspired by five short films directed by Glover himself, immersing guests in an intimate evening that incorporated product seeding and elements of theater.
THE JOURNEY
150 guests were invited to the mansion to step into a recreation of Glover's cinematic world. Each room was a build-out of a set from one of the five films, enhanced with sound, smell, and other sensory design meant to extended and deepen the narrative.
SEEDING
Seeding presented a moment for storytelling as well. Guests received their own pair of the exclusive sneaker collab and were invited to lace up before entering the mansion. Each room featured a variety of materials inspired by the short films meant to add wear and tear to the shoes — red clay, paint splatter, a honey-like substance, moss, and dirt — actualizing Glover's vision of "symbolic initiation" and the philosophy that shoes should be worn.
